Ops! I forget to update this thing!!

Ok so I get all excited creating new things - such as this blog, and once the 1st post goes out, somehow i seem to think it will continue to replenish itself with updates stories from hotdogs.....not so much!!!!

Apologise for the missing weeks here's a brief update on what has been going on at hotdogs!:

Over the past few weeks we have really seen God move in such great ways!We know He is totally in this ministry because #1 We cannot function without Him! and #2 He continues to bless us with other people that want to bless it!!! By giving donations, serving and praying for the ministry! Thank you to everyone who has helped give in some way to this God given ministry, we are so excited to see the Power of the Holy Spirit movei n the lives of these men and women and sometimes children.

Last week we were blessed by two men from St.Michaels church, who bought the food for us to cook!

Then during the week someone gave us money for the ministry which helped pay for a new grill and gas cylinder which we sooo needed, and another person bought 2 new tables for us, as ours were about to give way any minute!!

Thank you Jesus! And thank you people for these great gifts!

Last week I got to speak to the Year Team at St.Andrews church and it was so great to see 2 of the memebers show up at hotdogs that same week! Yey!

In regards to the men that join us to eat the food and to be blessed by what God is doing: They soooo need our prayers! Downtown Charleston has 1 "safe"/free house for them to stay in, the people are harsh, and completely rules orintated - no grace. Which is understandable in certain cases. But They feel they are treated like homeless people, like nothings - they are not treated with dignity or respect from even the authorities...
This has really been on my heart this past week. I have heard so many people complain about the place they have.
These are great guys! Yes they have addictions and have a history but they are human and we need to find grace and love for them, this is a hugely wealthy city - in the Western "World" we know how to treat people better...
Lets pray for these men and women and children in this situation and try to find hope for them to look forward to!

So excited about this Ministry in Christ!

The New Begining!

This Amazing God given ministry began in August 2008.
Throughout the year we endured rain, ice, heat, bugs and wind, yet every Thursday
night from 5pm to 6.30pm we have served on average 60 people- Men, Women and Children.
We have seen volunteers come and go throughout the year, helping in every way they can.

Since June 2009 we have expanded our ministry to Monday nights, as we saw the need and had the volunteers needed to pull off another evening of Hot-Dogs!

God has been so faithful in providing helpers and finances for the two nights a week we have had the ministry.
During the end of July we took a break from Thursday night hotdogs as we were loosing our main volunteers - as they graduated and began their lives in new places!
Yet again the lord has put it on our hearts to start up the ministry, and so here we are!! Round two!

Chris Roth and I have such a desire to see the glory of God seep into the streets of Charleston and into the lives of the Men, Women and Children who have suffered from so many hardships throughout their lives to leave them where they are today.
BUT! There is hope!
Jesus is the hope of our nations and we believe this, and live it!
Although we serve hot dogs to these people that is certainly not all.
We desire to bring compassion, love, friendship and hope to the lives of these amazing people and restore at least some light into the darkness they have endured.

As we bring this ministry to the Lord and continue to have Him at the forefront of every decision we make, we would love any extra help we can get from volunteers to finances to prayers to equipment anyway you feel led to help would be such a huge blessing to us!

We look forward to keeping this blog updated with stories of the people we serve, prayer requests and other such events coming up as we continue to serve these people and bring Jesus into the light.
